Summit was a great chance for individuals to meet hundreds of healthcare leaders from around the world and proved to be a great networking opportunity. Insurance executives, Hospital CEO's, Facilitators, Government officials, Third party administrators were present at the summit along with Mr. Jorge Woodbridge, Costa Rica's minister for competitiveness and Hon. Dr. Arthur T. Porter from Canadian Healthcare system. "It was a great event and I was very happy to meet leaders of the medical tourism industry who helped shape this industry," said Michelle a medical travel facilitator from Brazil.
'Medical Alliance of the Americas'
On 11th November, 2009 a big step was taken towards betterment of US citizens when 14 organizations joined their hands to form 'Medical Alliance of the Americas'. These organizations include universities, hospitals, research institutes, and government officials. Representatives from these organizations supported this alliance through their announcement of support. They signed a proclamation and declared their support for contributing towards the health care issue of America. During the summit Healthcare leaders from around the world found IWHTA's mission and goals truly unique and expressed their best wishes for the success of its 'Donate a Surgery' program. Many executives offered their services and assured their support for the upcoming IWHTA events.
